Civil secretariat employees threaten agitation if demands not met

Srinagar, Feb 05: Jammu and Kashmir civil secretariat coordination committee (JKCSCC) on Tuesday condemned delay in implementation of the decisions taken by Chief Secretary on December 24 last year.

A statement issued here said in an emergency meeting of JKCSCC, all the issue concerning the employees, “including the assurance given by the worthy Chief Secretary during the meeting held with Coordination Committee on December 24, 2018, were discussed.”

The meeting, it said, was informed that the Chief Secretary had agreed in principle that all issues projected by the CC would be addressed in a time-bound manner within a period of 15 days.

“But nothing concrete has been done in this regard until now. Besides the record not/minutes of the said meeting issued by GAD is not in sync with the decisions taken during the said meeting,” it said.

The statement said that the meeting observed that over a period of time the General Administration Department is deliberately delaying the files.

In the statement, the coordination committee demanded that government should take necessary steps for bridging this gap of 228 slots by way of allotting all the slots available with GAD and Establishment Committee constituted by the government for the purpose.

“Pinning hope on the Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam, the officers were optimistic about the impartiality of CS who would not allow any body to do anything which mars the rights of promotee group,” it said.

Threatening to go for indefinite strike, the coordination committee in the meeting decided to launch an agitation if their demands were not met at the earliest.
