BUDGAM, JANUARY 7: Additional District Development Commissioner Khurshid Ahmad Sanai today chaired a meeting of newly elected presidents, vice presidents and ward members here at his office chamber.

The meeting was also attended by Executive Officers of all Municipal Committees; Budgam, Khansahab, Magam, Chadoora, Charsharief and Beerwah.

The ADDC urged the elected councilors, presidents and vice presidents to work as a team with their respective Executive Officers of Municipal Committees for facilitating better and prompt services to the general public.

During the meeting, the ADDC took detailed review of the developmental works presently going in respected municipal areas.

The ADDC deliberated on the role and responsibilities of the elected members towards the development of their areas.

He urged the councilors to take collective measures for the common good and spread awareness about judicious use of water, electricity and other essential services.

The ADDC interacted with each elected councilor and ascertained about requirements in their areas. The elected members highlighted and brought in notice of ADDC various bottlenecks pertaining to the developmental issues in their respective municipal areas.

He asked the elected councilors and presidents/ vice presidents to demonstrate as agents of developmental activities/ programmes envisaged by the government and ensure fair and genuine households get benefit from the government sponsored welfare and developmental schemes.    He also urged the elected members to ensure there is cleanliness and proper sanitation in their areas and aware people on using separate dustbins for segregated waste.
