JKEDI panel approves 190 cases of aspiring entrepreneurs

JAMMU, JANUARY 07: One Hundred and Ninety (190) cases of aspiring entrepreneurs sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) under different schemes were approved by the Steering Committee which met here on Monday.

The 119th Steering Committee meeting of Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS) and 63rd meeting of Youth Startup Loan Scheme (YSLS) was held under the Chairmanship of Saurabh Bhagat, Commissioner/Secretary, Labour & Employment Department.

Dr. M I Parray Director JKEDI, Tufail Mattoo Executive Director JKEDI, Y P Suman Director Employment Department, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnaai Additional Secretary Labour and Employment Department, Shahid Mehmood Deputy Director Employment Central and Dr. Majid Manzoor Khan Chief Faculty JKEDI. District Nodal Officers of JKEDI from Jammu division, Assistant Directors of the Employment Department (Jammu division) and sectoral experts from the line departments were also present in the meeting.

Out of 288 cases placed before the Committee 168 cases were approved under Seed Capital Fund Scheme while 22 out of 52 cases were approved under the Youth Startup Loan Scheme. 150 cases were deferred and will be taken up in the next meeting to be convened soon.

The meeting decided that more emphasis shall be laid on to encourage women to start their entrepreneurial ventures, besides focus be increased on High Employment Potential Sectors (HEPS) as well as Agricultural and allied activities under the Seed Capital Fund Scheme and Youth Startup Loan Scheme being implemented by JKEDI.
