KARGIL, DECEMBER 23:-Executive Councillor for Agriculture and Health Zakir Hussain on Saturday convened a meeting at Council Secretariat here and took stock of peoples’ grievances, besides reviewing the status of development works being executed in Lotchum Block.

Councilor Pashkum Kacho Muhammad Feroz, Executive Engineer Power Development Department (PDD) Kargil, Divisional Engineer BSNL, Kargil, Lambardars of Skamboo, Darket, Nunamchay and Lotchum besides the Sarpanches and Panches were present in the meeting.

During the course of the meeting, Councillor Pashkum, Lambardars and Sarpanches apprised the EC of their demands and problems which mainly pertained to PDD infrastructure and improvement of existing BSNL telecommunication services in the area.

The public representatives requested the EC for initiating immediate steps for the repair of the BSNL tower at Skamboo village, besides shifting the electric line from the snowbound sliding areas to the spots along the road.

The Executive Councilor, while giving a patient hearing to the grievances and developmental needs, assured the representatives that all their genuine concerns will be looked into and taken up with the concerned authorities for early redressal.

Meanwhile, Zakir gave on spot instructions to the Divisional Engineer BSNL Kargil to restore the mobile tower at Skamboo at the earliest and fixed the deadline of 24 December, 2018 to accomplish the same.

The EC also directed the Executive Engineer PDD to start work on the shifting of electric lines from the present snow bound sliding areas of Tarchoks Bridge to Darket Rongdo Nunamchay along the roadside by March next year.

The EC said that Hill Council Kargil is fully committed to the welfare of the people of the district and various welfare and development schemes of the Central and State Government are being effectively implemented for uplifting the socio-economic conditions of the people. He also exhorted upon the representatives to actively participate in the developmental process of their respective areas.
