Sopore October 30: Two women among seven newly elected Municipal Corporators of Municipal Council Sopore took oath of office at a swearing-in ceremony held here at Dak Banglow Sopore on Tuesday.

The oath was administered by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, Ashiq Hussain Lilly and total 7 recently elected members including two women’s of the town while one councilor was absent.

In Sopore town eight BJP candidates have won uncontested who had filed their nomination in 8 different wards out of total 21 Municipal wards, however 13 wards remained vacant without any candidate.

Kashmiri Pandith Rohit Kumar who contested Municipal elections in Sopore for the ward Shahabad locality of the town and declared winner unopposed told Kashmir Images, “My dream is to work for my brothers and to make town developed day by day which is need of hour,”

Migrated in 1989-90 from Shahabad Sopore to Jammmu Kumar feels that residents here in the town are fed up with system and they want change all things here which has not been changed so far.

I hope I will deliver good governance towards my Sopore, and also I am afraid of death if anyone wants harm me I have no hesitation to die because I have decide to scarify the life for my brothers.
