Sopore, Sept 22: In the ongoing TCI North Kashmir Invitation Cup Sopore, United Gymkhana defeated Affarwat-XI by 9 runs in a nail biting contest at Khushaal Stadium Sopore on Saturday.
After winning the toss, United Gymkhana opted to bat first as they were bundled out for 126 runs. Tanveer emerged as highest scorer with 28 runs, while as Shakir scored 22 runs for United Gymkhana.
Abid Gani and Showkat Bhat remained highest wicket taking bowlers for Affarwat-XI with 2 wickets each.
In reply, Affarwat-XI fell short of 9 runs to reach the victory target of 127 runs and managed to score 118 runs in allotted 20 overs. Ashiq played a knock of 42 runs for Affarwat-XI, while Waheed Bashir added 19 runs.
Shahid took 3 wickets for United Gymkhana and was declared player of the match.
