Cleanliness drive under ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ Campaign organized in Budgam

BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 22: Under the ongoing sanitation campaign ‘Swachhtta Hi Seva’, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Budgam Khursheed Ahmad Sanai today supervised a cleanliness drive at Government Degree College Khan Sahib today.

On the occasion, the ADDC stressed on maintaining cleanliness at the public places including tourist spots for keeping the environment clean.

The ADDC asserted on proper disposal of bio-degradable and non-biodegradable waste and said separate dustbins should be used for the same.

Terming public cooperation as a must for the success of the cleanliness mission, he urged students and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to be part of the drive and take it to every household in their respective vicinities.

He said that major focus is being given on cleaning of water bodies, parks, roads, schools, hospitals and colleges during the fortnight programme.

On the occasion, cleanliness kits which include dustbins and brooms were distributed among the members of SHGs.

The ADDC instructed all officers that focus should be given to mobilizing locals through community participation in the cleanliness drives.

Later, the ADDC lead a rally from the Degree College to Main market Khansahab in which scores of SHGs and students participated. The rally depicting placards urging the general public to envisage their cooperation and support in making the campaign a success.

Principal GDC Khan Sahib, SDM Khan Sahib, BDO khan sahib and other officers and officials of different departments and students of the College were present on the occasion.
