Annual Day function held at GGHSS Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, SEPTEMBER 19: – Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Ganderbal today celebrated its annual day at School premises, Ganderbal. The students presented various cultural items depicting different cultures and dances from Kashmiri culture.

The function was presided by Director Education Kashmir, Dr. G.N Itoo and other officers who were present on the occasion included Joint Director Education, Central Kashmir, Abid Hussain, Chief Education Officer Ganderbal, Sheikh Gayas-ud-din, Principal Girls Higher Secondary School Ganderbal, Nisar Ahmad, Principal DIET Ganderbal, Principal Qamaria Model Institute, ZEO Ganderbal, Civil Society Members and students from the adjacent educational institutions.

Director School education while addressing the gathering of students, teachers and the members of civil society laid stress upon the annual day celebrations which brings to fore the hidden talent among the students and paves the way towards sports, art and music as potential careers in the future.

He also stressed upon the students to explore their hidden talent and adapt themselves in the competitive world. He advised the students and teacher community to inculcate reading habits as reading expands mental acumen and widens mental horizon.

Stressing for keeping cleanliness in and around the schools, Itoo suggested the school authorities organize seminar and competitions on hazards of polythene and theme-based debates on the conservation of environment from the pollution.

He also highlighted the initiatives taken by the Government with regard to upgrading school infra including raising of boundary walls and construction of washrooms with water facility within the schools.

Merit certificates and trophies were distributed among the meritorious students. Awards of honour and teaching excellence awards were also presented to teachers for their outstanding contribution. Director Education, Kashmir also awarded rupees eleven thousand to GHS School, Ganderbal, BMS Saloora and GMS Ganderbal.
