‘Root 2 Fruit Shopian’ wins by 6 wickets against ‘Eagle Sports’

Anantnag, September 01: In the ongoing Mirza Galib T20 cricket tournament being played at Government Degree College Boys Anantnag, Root 2 Fruit Shopian defeated Eagle Sports by 6 wickets.

After winning the toss, Eagle Sports put a total of 147 runs on the board with its 3 wickets falling down in 20 overs of the game. Bilal Ahmad Smashed 62 runs and Ashraf Ahmad 22 runs.

After the departure of these batsmen, they rarely squandered a chance to score more runs for the team, Bilal’s 62 runs could not make his team to mark victory for them and his innings went in vain.

The decent performances in the bowling department by Shopian team tried to put brake on the innings of Bilal Ahmad who was going on with his speedy runs and restricted the opponents at 147 runs.

During the course of second innings, Shopian team could see their target and chased down it in 19 over easily without losing more wickets.

However, the opening batsmen of Shopian team were not well in bat soon after their departure Suhaib was promoted to accelerate the run rate who did it beautifully.

Suhaib of Shopian smashed 53 runs not out and Owais Ahmad with 19 runs, after losing 3 wickets Suhaib and his companion started matching each other shot for shot as he was headed towards his half century.

At the 19 over of the game Shopian team chased down the target of 148 runs at the loss of 4 wickets.

Suhaib was awarded man of the match for his brilliant knock of 53 runs and bagging 1 wicket in the game.
