DODA, SEPTEMBER 01: District Administration Doda is going to organise a major sports festival in the second week of the current under centre’s Khelo India Scheme -Sports for peace and development.

To finalize the arrangements, Deputy Commissioner   Simrandeep Singh chaired a meeting to review the status and availability of infrastructure for conducting the tournaments during the marathon sports festival.

The meeting was informed that Block Level tournaments for Volley Ball, Kho-Kho, Kabadi, Wrestling etc would be held which will be preceded by a massive publicity campaign to mobilize the potential sports persons from across the district.

The DDC directed Youth Services and Sports Department (YSSD) to start preparations on war footing for the mega event and ensure availability of sports kits at all identified venues.

The DDC said the district administration is paying focused attention to promote sports by developing the sports infrastructure in all Tehsils and blocks of the district.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Mohammad Hanief Malik, ACD Angrez Singh, Chief Planning Officer Parshotam Kumar, CEO, DYSSO, Principals, BDOs, ZEOs, Headmasters and other concerned officials.
