Iqbal Sports slump to 10 wicket defeat against Young Sports Anzwallah

Anantnag, August 02: Young Islamia Anzwallah defeated Iqbal sports by 10 wickets in the round first of Mirza Galib cricket tournament at Government Degree College Boys Anantnag on Thursday.

Batting first Iqbal sports scored 96 in 16 overs in allotted 20 overs. Rais Ahmad scored 20 runs and Irshad scored 16 runs for his team, while as other players of the team could score much as Iqbal sports was restricted to 96 runs.

After losing the first two wickets, batting order of Iqbal sports collapsed and the team could only play 16 overs of their 20 over quota.

While chasing the target of 97 runs, Young sports achieved the set target in just 15 overs, without losing any wicket.

Openers of Young sports Mudasir Ahmad and Showkat remained unbeaten on 46 and 42 runs which has been the best opening partnership so far in the tournament.

Riyaz Ahmad of Young sports shone with the ball by taking 5 wickets, he was awarded man of the match.
