Wild Warriors Ashmuji beats MCC Donpawa

Anantnag, July 31: In the first round of Mirza Galib cricket tournament at Government Degree College (Boys) Anantnag, Wild Warriors Ashmuji faced MCC Donpawa and defeated them by 5 runs.

After winning the toss, Wild Warriors Ashmuji elected to bat first and scored 157 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in allotted 20 overs.

The opening batsman, Umar Zahoor, of WW Ashmuji scored 77 runs as he hit 9 boundaries and ended up playing a brilliant knock for his team.

Another batsman Shahid Farooq of WW Ashmuji scored 35 runs and thereby helping his team to set the target of 158 runs for the rivals.

While chasing the target of 158 runs, MCC Donpawa played brilliantly but could score only 153 runs as they lost the match by 5 runs.

Irshad Ahmad of MCC Donpawa scored 61 runs including 4 fours and 4 sixes, while as Naseer Ahmad scored 19 runs unbeaten.

Umar Zahoor of WW Ashmuji was awarded Man of the match for his brilliant knock of 71 runs.
