   South Kashmir Kulgam defeats Shabir Sports by 53 runs

Anantnag, July 30: In the first round of Mirza Ghalib Cricket Tournament at Government Degree College Boys Anantnag, Kulgam faced Shabir Sports.

After winning the toss, Kulgam elected to bat first and scored 160 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in allotted 20 overs.

Afaq Nabi , the wicketkeeper batsman of team Kulgam scored 47 runs, while as captain Manzoor Ahmad scored 36 runs of 17 balls at a strike rate of 211.76. Aabid Hamid bowler of Shabir Sports took 4 wickets.

Opening batting order of Kulgam did a great job on ground and every player contributed for their team to set the target of 160 runs for opposite rivals.

While chasing the target of 160 runs, Shabir Sports were bundled out on 107 runs all out in 18.3 overs and lost the competition with 53 runs.

Yamin scored 42 runs with2 sixes and 5 fours and Shabir Ahmad with 17 runs were the top scorers for Shabir sports,  while as the rest of players could not perform well and didn’t enter into double figures.

In the first 10 overs of second innings, Shabir sports was doing well in ground till Yamin Ahmad was playing soon after his dismissal wickets started falling down one after another and whole team was all out at 107 runs.

Saqib Hussain of South Kashmir Kulgam was Awarded Man of the Match for his brilliant bowling spell. He took 3 wickets and scored 14 runs.
