Srinagar, Jul 28: Senior People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Member Parliament Muzaffar Hussain Baig on Saturday warned of another partition of India if lynchings of Muslims were not stopped forthwith.

“We want to appeal the PM Modi from this state that the killings of Muslims in the name of cow and buffalo should be stopped. There has already been a partition in 1947. More could take place if you don’t stop killings of Muslims,” said Baig.

He was reacting to various incidents of mob lynching and killings in the name of cow vigilantism.

Addressing workers at the raising day of the PDP in Srinagar, Baig said they allied with the BJP so that justice is done to Muslims across the country and the Kashmiri people.

“I realize this thing that we allied with the BJP and several people said that we allied with a party that is an enemy of Muslims. And it is true,” said Baig while referring to the lynchings of Muslims.

“We allied with BJP so that they can trust Muslims, and treat them with justice,” said Baig, adding that the alliance was not made for the sake of chair.

“We allied with BJP so that justice is done to Muslims and Kashmiris. Talks with Pakistan can take place,” Baig claimed.
