WPL: Zahid’s Knock helps Humhama to qualify for the Semifinal

Tarzoo, 11 July:  Star Cricket Club Humhama on Wednesday defeated the host PCC Tarzoo in the first Quarter Final of the day and thereby entering into the Semifinal of Wular Premier League (WPL) cricket tournament.

Humhama won the toss and elected to bat first at Sheikhul Alam Sports Ground Tarzoo Sopore in a scorching heat. Humhama lost its first four wickets at a paltry score of 44 runs in 10 overs. Zahid Dar played the memorable inning of 71 runs and helped his team to post a decent total of 176 runs on the board at the end of 20 overs. Meanwhile, Muzaffar also contributed with 33 runs to the final total.

For PCC Tarzoo, Abid Nabi took 3 wickets, Irshad and Shabir lefty bagged 2 wickets each.

In reply, PCC Tarzoo got off to a flying start of 59 runs at the loss of one wicket, once the opening batsman departed, other batsmen followed him and wickets fell like a pack of cards. Only Shabir lefty could score 50 runs, while as Sajad Gul made 30 runs and Abid Nabi was the other top scorers for the PCC.

Finally, Star CC Humhama won the match by 45 runs and qualified for the Semifinal, Towseef took 3 wickets for SCH.

Zahid Dar was declared Man of the match for his brilliant knock of 71 runs.
