Srinagar, Jul 08: Hizb ul Mujahideen has released pictures of new recruits which include brother of an Indian Police Officer (IPS) officer, a media report said today.

25-year-old Shamsul Haq Mengnoo, who was pursuing his BUMS from a government college at Zakura on the outskirts of Srinagar went missing in May this year, fuelling speculation that he might have joined militancy.

“Yes, Shamul has joined Hizb ul Mujahideen (militant outfit),” a police officer was quoted as saying by ‘Tribune’.

Mengnoo is a younger brother of 2012 batch IPS officer Inamul Haq who is posted in northeast India.

In a picture released on social media, Shamsul could seen be holding a gun. It shows date of joining militant ranks as May 25, 2018. His code name, according to the picture, is Burhan Sani.
