Srinagar: “Safar-e-Taleem” – a Capacity Building Tour comprising 25 students and 05 teachers from different schools of Baramulla district was flagged in on 05 July 2018 at Thimayya Hall, Baramulla after the successful culmination of the nine day voyage to Delhi and back, a defense spopkesman said in a statement issued here.

The tour endowed the students with an opportunity to visit many important places in the country, having immense historical and cultural significance, such as Lal Qila, Jama Masjid, KNMA, Saket Mall, Okhla Industrial Area, Qutub Minar, India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan, IIT Delhi and Safdarjung Tomb, said the spokesman.

“The tour also provided an avenue to appreciate the harmonious co-existence amongst the people from different parts of India and helped the children of Baramulla to see the developmental activities that are ongoing and the manner in which peace has helped different regions of India develop and prosper,” the spokesman said.

The spokesman added: “The parents of the students were grateful to the Army for providing such an exposure to them and requested to organise more such tours.”
