Woman from PaK dies in Poonch

Poonch, June 30: A 74-year-old guest woman from Pakistan-administered Kashmir (PaK) who arrived here last week via cross LoC bus service from Chakan Da Bagh died apparently due to cardiac arrest on Saturday morning.

Kulsuma Bi, wife of Rehmatullah, resident of Kotli in PaK, visited Poonch along with the family including her husband to attend her relative’s marriage function at Chajala village here.

The woman and her family were scheduled to return home next week.

Today morning Kulsuma Bi fell unconscious and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her brought dead, the relatives said.

Station House Officer (SHO) Mendhar, Mohd Amin while confirming the incident told GNS that the woman apparently died due to sudden cardiac arrest.

Investigations have been launched into the incident and postmortem being conducted to know the actual cause of her death, he said.

Meanwhile, concerned Sub-District Magistrate Dr Tanveer Khan told GNS that they contacted the DDC concerned for transfer of the body and expected it to take place very soon.

“Concerned officials across the divide are also being contacted through the hotline and after their nod, the body will be sent back through Chakan Da Bagh crossing point,” the official said. (GNS)
