Army organizes medical camp

Srinagar: To address the medical needs of the Gujjars and Bakarwals in the remote areas of the Valley, the Army on June 27 organised medical camps at Chorkhurd and Darian.

A team of Army Doctors attended to the patients from various villages including Chorkhurd, Darian, Chormargi and Somali and also provided free medication. In addition, an awareness campaign was also carried out to educate the locals on the causes and remedies of child malnutrition, Army said in a statement issued here.

The team also conducted a lecture on basic hygienic and sanitary practices in household to avoid illness besides encouraging them to keep their surroundings clean.

Another medical camp was organised at Manigam in coordination with the civil administration at PHC, Manigam to provide much needed medical services to the local populace wherein more than 300 people reaped the facilities of this camp, said the statement.
