ANANTNAG, JUNE 09: District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik, today chaired a meeting to finalize arrangements for forthcoming auspicious occasions of Shab-e-Qadr and Eid-ul-Fitr.

All the SDMs, SE PDD and PHE, Exen PDD and PHE, CMO, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, all Tehsildars, AD FCS&CA, ARTO, Executive Officers of Municipal Committees/ Councils, AD Fisheries, DySP Traffic and other concerned officers attended the meeting.

During the meeting, availability of essential commodities including rice, atta, sugar, LPG & kerosene, rates of eatables, transport arrangements, traffic management, sanitation of Ziyarat Shareefs, Mosques, Eid Gahs and streets, ambulance services, uninterrupted power and water supply and proper functioning of street lights were discussed threadbare.

The meeting was informed that against the monthly allocation of 52779 quintals of rice, 45200 quintals have been lifted up, of which 37600 quintals have been distributed among the consumers so far. Besides, out of an availability of 5029 quintals of sugar including the one KG additional to the normal quota, 4875 quintals, have been distributed among the consumers so far.

Meanwhile, the DDC said that the rates of various eatables have already been notified. He entrusted upon the SDMs and Tehsildars to ensure the strict compliance of the approved rates.

Tehsildars were also instructed to keep a close vigil on the stock and supply position of rations and eatables.

Chief Medical Officer was instructed to keep ambulance services in a state of readiness and ensure duty of doctors and paramedical staff.

Chief Animal Husbandry Officer was directed to ensure the availability of poultry birds on concessional rates in the District. Besides, AD Fisheries was also directed to establish sales outlets at designated spots on festive days.

Executive Officers of concerned municipalities were instructed to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation around the centrally located mosques, Eidgahs Ziyarat Shareefs and streets.

PDD and PHE departments were instructed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply during these days. In those areas where there is a scarcity of water, PHE Department was directed to deploy water tankers.
