“World Environment Day is the “people’s day” for doing something to take care of the earth. That “something” can be focused locally, nationally or globally; it can be a solo action or involve a crowd. Everyone is free to choose,” a speaker Dr. Gowinder Jeet Singh said.

On this occasion, the environmental challenges and approach to combat them was discussed threadbare and a pledge was taken to contribute to a healthy environment campaign.

Addressing the program, Medical Superintendent Dr Syed Masood  gave emphasis on cleanliness drives and clean surroundings while he spoke about depleting ozone levels and raised the issue of rational allocation of carbon credits to industrialised nations.

“This year the theme for World Environment Day is beating plastic pollution. Hospitals use lot of plastic so it is imperative to make the people associated with healthcare aware about the importance of healthy environment,” said Dr. Syed Masood.

He added that every individual has responsibility to be environment friendly and contribute his or her bit towards better ecology.
