Srinagar, June 03: Paying rich tributes to Molana Mohammad Yusuf shah on his 51st anniversary, APHC chairman Syed Ali Geelani said that Muhajir Millat was the forerunner for the people’s freedom movement.
In a statement, Geelani while hailing his political, social and religious contribution, said that Muhajir-e-Milat stood like a rock on his stand and added though Sheikh Abdullah and other pro-Indian leaders tried their best to force him to submission, but late Mirwaiz despite all odds launched movement against autocratic rule of the time and fought in such a way that his name became immortal.
“His greatest gift to his nation is the Tafsir e Qur’an and Jammu Kashmir will continue to remember Mirwaiz Yousuf Shah,” Geelani added.
Muhajir -e-Milat pursued his mission even in exile, Geelani said and added we are highly indebted to his scholarly and religious work of translation of Holy Quran in Kashmiri language.
