Training prog on ‘Direct Benefit Transfer’ held at Srinagar

SRINAGAR, MAY 30: A daylong training programme for master trainers regarding the use of Point of Sale Machines (PoS) and to-go-live in fertilizer sector on Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) across the Kashmir Division including Leh & Kargil was held here today.

Joint Director Agriculture Extension Abdul Rahim Samoon inaugurated the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Samoon said that successful implementation of DBT in fertilizer sector is able to promote transparency and accountability in the entire fertilizer sector. He underlined the importance of such training programmes in enhancing the expertise and operation management of the complete process of Direct Benefit Transfer System. He said that it would strengthen the abilities of master trainers to completely implement the latest digital innovations in the agriculture sector.

During the training programme, the master trainers of Srinagar, Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Budgam, Pulwama, Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, Ganderbal, Lah& Kargil Districts were imparted training on various aspects of use of Point of Sale Machines and Direct Benefit Transfer System in fertilizer sector.

The trainees were also enlightened with the new versions of Point of Sale machines. Around 150 master trainers participated in the daylong workshop.

Akhil Vaid state Coordinator DBT J&K, imparted training to the participants on the responsibilities of master trainers with respect to different aspects of use of Point of Sale machines and Direct Benefit Transfer System in the fertilizer sector.
