IGP Kashmir inaugurates CCTNS, IT labs at District Police Office Anantnag

Srinagar, May 28: Inspector General of Police Kashmir Swayam Prakash Pani inaugurated the newly constructed CCTNS and IT labs at District Police Office Anantnag.

A police spokesman in a statement issued here said that IGP Kashmir while inaugurating the labs said that CCTNS project is a significant landmark in making police more accessible, transparent and citizen friendly.

Adding further, he said that Criminal and Crime Tracking Network and System (CCTNS) is a mission mode project under the National e-Governance Plan of Government of India. Under the CCTNS project, IGP Kashmir said that all police stations of the state will be linked to each other for sharing of information about various crimes and criminals within their respective jurisdictions.

IGP further said that this technological advancement in Police is a good step to achieve objectives such as reaching out to the public in quick and transparent manner, enhancing the working capability of the Police Department besides improving the law and order. The system will facilitate the people in lodging online as well as offline complaints at police stations which are linked with CCTNS.

DIG South Kashmir Amit Kumar, SSP Anantnag, SSP Kulgam and SSP Awantipora were also present on the occasion.
