Minor boy injured in Sopore

Sopore, May 20: A 9-year-old boy was seriously injured after CRPF personnel allegedly fired rubber bullets on a group of protesters late Saturday evening at Arampora area of Sopore in north Kashmir Baramulla district.

According to the eyewitnesses, paramilitary CRPF men used tear-smoke shells and fired some rubber bullets after a group of youth pelted their vehicle with stones near Arampora Sopore.

They said that one rubber bullet hit Rizwan Ahmad Kaboo (9,) son of Reyaz Ahmad Kaboo of Arampora Sopore, injuring him critically. He was taken to Sub District Hospital for treatment.

Doctors at the hospital told ‘Kashmir Images’ that the injured boy after receiving first-aid treatment was shifted to SKIMS Soura as the bullet had hit his head.

SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal confirmed that Rizwan received a  rubber bullet injury after a group of boys attacked a forces’ vehicle with stones at Arampora. “The condition of the injured boys is stable now,” he added.

Meanwhile, police has registered a case and started investigation in this regard.
