ANANTNAG, MAY 5: Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Bijbehara today organized an awareness programme  Aajeevika Evam Kaushal Vikas Diwas here at Dak Bungalow Khanabal.

The programme was attended by scores of women artisans related with different handloom activities like crewel, manufacturing of readymade garments, handicrafts, cutting tailoring, processing of dry fruits,  wall-nuts and Shawl bafi.

The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Anantnag Mohammad Younis Malik, who is the chairman of District Level Review Cum Consultative Committee (DLRCC), was the chief guest on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, he emphasized upon the line departments to aware the public about various employment oriented welfare schemes. He said that under Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, which was celebrated from 14th April to 5th May 2018, various departments highlighted the developmental schemes and their aim upliftment of weaker sections of the society and to provide employment avenues to the uneducated employed youth.

The DDC also distributed EDP participation certificates among 36 trained candidates who completed their EDP at RSETI Anantnag under KVIC & PMEGP. Credit linkage of the candidates was also made with different banks.

Speaking on the occasion the Director RSETI said that during 2017-2018, 399 candidates were imparted training in different skills out of which 337 were financed. In 2018-2019 up to the end of April 2018, 36 candidates were trained out of which 14 were financed by banks.

The officers from Line departments including Industries, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, KVIV, Rural Development, Labour Department, Handicrafts also provided information to the participants about various employment oriented schemes.

The J&K Bank South, LDM, Anantnag and other officers from different banks were present on the occasion.
