Growing public disenchantment unnerves PDP-BJP: Rana
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

NAGROTA APRIL 30- National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana on Monday said the growing disenchantment among people with the PDP-BJP government over governance deficit has completely unnerved the non-performing alliance in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Instead of getting into functional mode, the coalition government is struggling to put its act together by indulging in patch-work and cosmetic makeover in a bid to be seen in command of the situation”, Rana said during an interaction with people during his extensive tour of the Nagrota Assembly Constituency, adding that the ground reality on the contrary is quite different.

“The government is invisible on ground zero and lack of political direction has left the administrative apparatus haywire”, the Provincial President observed.

He said the failure of the government on developmental, governance, law and order besides administrative fronts is a sad part of political compromises with the only objective of remaining glued to power. He said the coalition is working at cross purposes and inherent contradictions have taken toll of public welfare. Even on some very sensitive issues, the coalition is suffering from contradictions, he said, adding this has left the State almost polarized. He said the problems of the people have been multiplying with each passing day since the past nearly four years with development taking rear seat and utility services almost out of bounds in rural and remote areas.

Rana took the BJP head on for its divisive politics, saying that polarization has become its tool to achieve political agenda. This is dangerous for a sensitive and pluralistic state like Jammu and Kashmir that has lived in harmony even during most testing times of the history. He cautioned the people against BJP’s hate politics, observing that this can be effectively countered by maintaining unity and amity. He reminded the people of their crucial role in isolating hate mongers who are desperate to firm up their foothold in the State polity.

During the visit, the people apprised the MLA about various issues and urged that the utility services like power, drinking water and irrigational facilities needed close monitoring, especially in view of the ensuing summer spell. The sought advance stocking of transformers to meet eventuality during peak summers. They also called for ensuring agricultural inputs, seeds and pesticides in time so that farming community does not feel problems.

Rana said he has all along been coordinating with different agencies for time-bound completion of various welfare projects and schemes so that their benefit accrues to targeted segment of population in time.
