BANDIPORA, APRIL 30: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad Sanai flagged-off a Drug De-addiction rally from Mini Secretariat Bandipora here today.

The rally comprising students, Aanganwari and Asha workers, carrying placards in their hands and shouted slogans “Say No to Drugs” went through various markets of Bandipora town and culminated at S K Sports Stadium, Bandipora

The rally was organized by ISM Health Bandipora aimed at sensitizing people about the harmful effects of drugs.

SSP Bandipora, Sheikh Zulfkar Azad, District Nodal Officer ISM Health  Dr Iftikhar, programme officer ICDS Altaf Hussain, Dy CMO and other concerned were present on the occasion.

It was given out that a series of activities including awareness programmes, seminars, rallies and painting competition will be organised in colleges and schools of the district throughout the year to make people aware about the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC stressed on the need for moral education of the children of present-day age and appealed both parents as well as teachers to ensure that children do not fall prey of any social evil. He said district administration will launch a vigorous awareness campaign against drug menace across the district. He also urged upon the student community to concentrate on studies and also take part in sports and athletic activities.
