DSEK engages 1463 temporary teachers in far-flung areas of Valley

Srinagar, Apr 29: Director School Education Kashmir today issued orders of engagement of 1463 Temporary Contractual Teachers on academic arrangement in far-flung areas of nine districts of Kashmir Division, an official press release informed.

It said in this connection an emergency meeting of Chief Education Officers was called at Directorate of School Education Kashmir wherein they were directed to finish the process of posting in the schools of these contractual teachers within two days positively.

DSEK has told all the selected temporary teachers to collect their temporary orders tomorrow from their concerned CEO Offices. He has directed all the CEOs to make the orders for these temporary teachers available tomorrow according to the merit-list.

“It is pertinent to mention here that these temporary teachers on academic arrangement were given a monthly honorarium of Rs 3000 only but due to the efforts of Minister for Education Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari their monthly honorarium has been enhanced,” the press release informed.

It said temporary teachers serving in far-flung or hard zones will get Rs 7500 monthly and teachers working in other areas will get Rs 4500 as monthly honorarium.

“By the posting of these temporary teachers the teaching learning process will improve and become more effective in those schools where there was deficiency of staff,” the press release said.

By this engagement of temporary teachers, 53 teacher posts of Ganderbal, 389 of Anantnag, 171 of Bandipora, 275 of Baramulla, 93 of Kupwara, 81 of Pulwama, 105 of Shopian, 85 of Kulgam and 211 posts of Budgam will be temporarily filled on academic arrangement.

“Students, parents, education experts and different sections of the society have appreciated this step by Minister for Education and said that this will help in improving teaching learning process in far flung areas and students will be benefitted at a larger scale,” the press release claimed.
