While speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman said that government has launched number of schemes for the unemployed youth, especially for the backward classes with the motive to uplift their economic standards.

“J&K KVIB has emerged as number one board in India due to hard work and dedication of the team,” said Vice Chairman, adding that KVIB is providing hand holding support to rural unemployed youth through PMEGP, SFURTI and SC/ST Hub.

He asserted that earlier KVIB had some limitations in certain sectors with regard to implementation of PMEGP and to overcome those, the board has come up with a new scheme called Chief Minister Employment Generation Programme.

Vice Chairman directed the officers to encourage unemployed youth to avail benefit of these schemes and become job providers instead of job seekers.

Giving presentation about newly envisaged National Scheduled Caste Scheduled Tribe Hub Scheme, CEO/Secretary Rashid Ahmed Qadri said that it is an initiative of the Government of India to develop a supportive ecosystem in a bid to encourage SC-ST MSMEs.

He further said under Public Procurement Policy for MSMEs of 2012, Union ministry, concerned departments and public sector undertakings shall procure minimum 20% of their total annual value of goods or services from MSMEs and 4% of total procurement of goods and services shall be made from Micro and Small Enterprises owned by SC & ST entrepreneurs. At present, government procurement from SC-ST enterprises is less than 1% due to low participation of the SC-ST enterprises.

It was also given out that KVIB shall organise Vendor Development Programmes in various districts of the State.

The programme also witnessed briefing on online process flow of applications under PMEGP and Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI)  which promotes  cluster development to provide sustained employment for traditional industry artisans and rural entrepreneurs by improving their capacity building and manufacturing skills through training and exposure visits.

Financial Advisor KVIB- Ashraf Haqla, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Pawan Gupta, Deputy chief executive officer (admin) KVIB- Javed Anjum Mir, State Director RSETI A K Razdan and other senior officials from different departments attended the workshop.
