BCI’s clean chit to Kuthua bar shameful: Er Rasheed
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar, Apr 27: AIP leader and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed today said the Bar Council of India by giving clean chit to the Kathua bar despite its “shameful act of preventing Crime Branch from filing charge-sheet in rape and murder case”  has shaken the faith not only of Kashmiris but every conscious citizen.

According to an AIP press release, addressing public meetings at Lawoosa, Khudi and other places in Handwara today, Er. Rasheed said that BCI has exposed itself by claiming that its investigation has not found Kathua bar guilty and also by supporting CBI probe in the case.

Er. Rasheed said that one has every reason to believe that after huge worldwide hue and cry of Kathua rape and murder, the BCI team was sent to Kuthua under a “well-crafted plan to defuse the situation and ultimately defend the culprits who have shamed their profession”.

“It is unfortunate that the team of Bar Council of India which visited Kuthua turned a blind-eye towards the shameful incidents which took place on the day when challan was produced and everything was in public domain.

“Bar Council even ignored the report of Principal District Judge who had confirmed that Crime Branch was prevented from producing Challan before CJM by Kuthua Bar,” Rasheed said.

He said “it is evident that the Bar Council of India had an agenda to restore the credibility and dignity of the goons of Kuthua Bar.”

He said it looks laughable when Bar Council of India accuses media of “misrepresenting” the reports about victim’s lawyer Deepika Singh being prevented and threatened by the lawyers’ body.

“May one ask the distinguished  members of Bar Council of India how did Indian media became so biased overnight which would otherwise often get huge praises from the lawyers and even hon’ble judges for downplaying the state terrorism and atrocities on Kashmiris?” he asked.

He said BCI needs to be reminded of its “biased approach towards Kashmiris”, as it is like conquering Himalaya to get a good lawyer for a Kashmiri in any part of India .

Rasheed added that the BCI giving clean chit to Kuthua lawyers and supporting a CBI probe “has proved all those forces right who don’t expect Indian courts to do justice with Muslims, especially Kashmiris”.

He said “while the national parties, legal experts and international organizations have been showing their worry about the functioning of Indian judiciary, Bar Council of India by preferring to side with the goons has proved how deep  communal forces have infiltrated even in the temple of justice. It seems that Bar Council of India has no problem in tricolor being used to defend the rapists and murderers, and doing any damn thing with Jammu Muslims is a matter of pride and national interest for them”.

Er. Rasheed appealed the world community to play its role in protecting the life, dignity and honour of minority community in Jammu, and delivering justice to 8-year-old victim.

Reacting to Supreme Court’s staying trial of the case, Rasheed appealed Supreme Court to constitute a fast trail court which should hear the case in Kashmir “as not only the lawyer of the victim but the family of victim also feel threatened in entire Jammu province.”
