DDC Shopian reviews progress under CAPEX Budget

SHOPIAN, APRIL 17: District Developmental Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Gazanfar Ali today chaired a meeting to review the pace and progress made on development works under CAPEX Budget (2017-18) and Chief Minister’s directions for the district passed during her public outreach programme.

Among others the meeting was attended by, Chief Planning Officer, Shopian, Engineers from R&B, PHE, I&FC, PDD, and other District/Sectoral officers.

On the occasion, the DDC also took stock of development works carried under the different state and centrally sponsored schemes.

Emphasizing on the timely completion of the developmental works, DDC directed the concerned to accelerate the pace of works to meet the set deadlines.

He also directed the concerned departments to start preparations for framing the new developmental plan 2018-19 and asked officials to consult concerned MLAs to finalize the plan.

He also stressed on the implementation of decisions taken during last district development board meeting and directed concerned to ensure all works and decisions made during CM’s public durbar at Pulwama/Shopian are completed within stipulated time frame.

The meeting was informed that 97.40 percent of the expenditure has been executed against the Rs 5993.20 crore approved CAPEX budget up to fiscal year 2017-18.

Regarding Roads and Buildings sector, the meeting was informed that the developmental works worth Rs 1345.45 crore were carried out of the available Rs 1345.45 crore.

Regarding Education sector, 100 percent expenditure has been made as Rs 727.98 crore were spent secondary education in the district.

Similarly, regarding Health sector, Rs 158.373 crore expenditure has been made, while as out of Rs 158.373 crore availability, Rs 54.62 crore expenditure has been made under PHE sector.

While taking a review of the implementation of CM’s instructions, DDC was informed that out of 55 decisions taken during the public darbar chaired by CM, 15 decisions have been implemented so far, while as work on other 37 decisions is under progress. Besides, 11 major projects have identified to be completed on top priority basis in the district including Mega Fruit Mandi Aglar Shopian, District Hospital, Polytechnic Colege, Mini Secretariat Complex, Trenz-Sheikhpora Brisge, Reshnagri Bridge, Bijbehara-Shopian Road, Aglar-Shopian Road, and Augmentation of Shopian Town and receiving station Keller.
