CRPF welcomes suggestions for alternative to pellet gun: CRPF ADG
Rajouri, Apr 04: Additional Director General of Central Reserve Police Force, Jammu and Kashmir Zone, VKS Kaumudi on Wednesday said that they would welcome suggestions for replacing pellet guns with any alternate means.
Kamudi was briefing media during his visit to Rajouri district today.
The senior CRPF official in response to a question on use of pellet guns in Kashmir replied that “any proposed replacement of pellet gun with any other alternative is welcomed by his force.
“Good suggestion will also be rewarded,” he said.
On Tuesday, New Delhi had claimed that three-day training is provided to the forces in Jammu and Kashmir for use of ‘less lethal weapons’ like pellet guns to avoid casualties.
“The Committee has submitted its report and the recommendations have been taken into account by the Government for appropriate implementation,” Minister of State for Home Affairs, Hansraj Gangaram Ahir had told Lok Sabhi in his written reply to a question about use of pellet guns in Kashmir.
