JK inching towards digital revolution: Imran Ansari

NEW DELHI, APRIL 01: Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari today said that Jammu & Kashmir is inching towards a digital revolution by implementing various e-governance initiatives under central and state sponsored schemes in the state.

With an aim to make J&K fully digitized and to provide related facilities to the people under Digital India Program, the Minister met various implementing agencies including Chief Executive Officer of Common Service Centres (CSC) e-Governance Services India Limited to discuss implementation of schemes to further strengthen the e-governance mission in the state by extending various e-services and access to technology in rural areas of J&K.

During the meeting, the Minister was briefed about CSC-SPV achievements in the country with regard to digital revolution. He was further apprised that CSCs provide services in the areas of e-governance, education, health, telemedicine and other services.

Minister said the government aims to implement Digital India program in letter and spirit in J&K by making all citizens digitally literate and introducing e-governance in full in the state. Ansari said the programme will bring in public accountability through mandated delivery of government services electronically.

He said government will hire the services of best of the service providers of the country for implementation of Digital India program in the state.

Minister assured his full support in implementing the projects like PMG-DISHA, Legal Literacy, and Skill Development etc. He said government contemplates to introduce a slew of initiatives for making people E-literate and that establishing more CSC in rural areas will help in this regard.
