BARAMULLA: Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election Department, Javid Ahmad Dar on Thursday chaired a review meeting to assess the functioning of the education department and examine key challenges facing the sector in Baramulla and Rafiabad.
The meeting was attended by the Director School Education Kashmir, Chief Education Officer Baramulla, District Education Planning Officer Baramulla and Zonal Education Officers, who presented a detailed report on the status of educational institutions, infrastructure, staffing and ongoing developmental works in the district.
Dar stressed the need to strengthen the education system through effective planning, improved coordination among departments and timely redressal of issues.
He directed the officers to ensure quality education, proper utilisation of resources and stronger monitoring mechanisms to achieve better outcomes in schools.
The minister emphasized the importance of creating a conducive learning atmosphere in schools and called for addressing infrastructure deficiencies, ensuring adequate availability of teaching staff and increasing student enrolment and retention, particularly in rural and far-flung areas.
He also stressed the need to adopt innovative teaching methods and make greater use of technology to improve learning outcomes.
Dar asked the officers to work with dedication and accountability so that government schools are able to provide education matching the best standards.
During the meeting, the officers informed the minister about various challenges facing the education sector in Baramulla and Rafiabad and sought support for resolving them.
The minister assured them that all genuine issues would be addressed on priority to further strengthen the education system in the district.
