Shaheen Sports, Chand Champions register victories

Sopore, March 23: In the ongoing ‘Wular Premier League’ played at Sheikh-ul-Alam Sports Ground Tarzoo Sopore of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, Shaheen Sports defeated Legend’s Cricket Club in a nail biting finish. Bating first Legend’s Cricket Club scored 157 runs with Parvaiz scoring 55 runs and Murtaza adding 40 runs with some sublime hitting at the end.  For Shaheen Sports Mehraj bagged 4 wickets and Irshad picked up 3 wickets as well. In reply Shaheen Sports won a thriller as Waheed hit a boundary and took his side home in the last over, winning the match by 3 wickets. Mehraj was declared man of the match.

The second match of the day also turned out to be a thriller of a contest wherein Chand Champions defeated Pattan-XI by 3 wickets. Batting first Pattan-XI suffered a top order collapse and were bundled out for 120 runs. Ishfaq and Umar however showed some resistance adding 49 and 31 runs respectively. For Chand Chamoions, Irshad scalped 4 key wickets.

In reply Chand Champions achieved the target of 121 runs in 18 overs with Obaid Haroon (26) and Tariq (28) playing valuable knocks Irshad of Chand Champions who picked up 4 wickets was adjudged as man of the match.
