CA&PD officials booked for corruption
Srinagar, Mar 15: Vigilance Organization on Thursday registered a corruption case against two officials of Consumer Affairs department for misappropriating public money.
The case was registered against Zaffarullah Batt, the then Assistant Director CA&PD Kishtwar, and Saroop Chand, TSO Paddar/Kishtwar for misappropriation of huge amount of money meant for freight charges of food-grains.
A vigilance spokesman informed that investigations revealed the complicity of these two officials in misappropriating money by illegally diverting it and preparing forged records, following which a case was registered and further investigations initiated.
