DIG north chairs security meet in Handwara

Srinagar: Deputy Inspector General of Police north Kashmir Range Dr. Sunil Gupta visited District Police Lines  Handwara and held a darbar of officers and Jawans and also chaired an officers meet.

A police spokesman, in a statement issued here, said that the DIG was briefed about the current situation of the district including crime, law and order and other related issues by SSP Handwara  Ghulam  Jeelani  Wani.

Dr. Sunil Gupta gave a patient hearing to the reports /grievances put forth by Jawans, and assured them of speedy redressal.

While  addressing  the officers  and Jawans, Dr. Sunil Gupta lauded the role  played by Handwara police in maintaining peace in the district.

The DIG also chaired an officers meet in which security scenario of the district was reviewed and measures to be taken were deliberated upon.

Among others SDPO Handwara Shabir Ahmad  Khan, Dysp Tariq Mehmood, DySP DAR Farooq Ahmad Shah and other police officers were also present.
