Div Com visits Bandipora, reviews progress on CM’s commitments

BANDIPORA, MARCH 12: The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today directed the concerned executing agencies to accelerate the developmental tempo so that all commitments made by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti during her outreach programme are fulfilled as per the timeline fixed for each work.

The Divisional Commissioner was addressing a review meeting attended by District Development Commissioner Bandipora Sajad Hussain, various Heads of Departments, Chief Engineers, Sectoral and District Officers here at Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat, Bandipora.

Divisional Commissioner reviewed the status of all the 316 directions made by the Chief Minister and gave on spot directions for completion of on-going developmental works. He asked the concerned officers to submit details of fund requirement within 2 days to his office, adding that funds should be no excuse in achieving of targets. He expressed his dismay over the slow working of JKEDA which has been given a target to provide 500 solar lights for village Kudara as per the CM’s Commitment.

Regarding construction of a reservoir at Lawaypora, the Divisional Commissioner directed concerned engineers of NHPC to provide Rs 3 crore as Mobilization Advance to PHE and I&FC departments to start the concerned works.

Earlier, DDC Sajad Hussain briefed the Div Com that out of 316 commitments/decisions, 83 decisions have been completed in full while as 142 decisions are progressing at different stages of implementation. It was also informed that 84 decisions have been submitted to the administrative department for approval.

Regarding physical achievements, the meeting was informed that the decisions regarding development of Park near Polytechnic College Bandipora, construction of deep drain in Bandipora market, construction of sports stadium at Sonawari, establishment of Transformer Bank have been implemented, besides execution of other works.

The meeting also reviewed the status of mega-projects which include drainage project and road connectivity at Hajin, construction of road from Chuntimulla to upper Kudara, establishment of Fruit Mandi at Bandipora, development of Nishat park Bandipora, construction of Malkhoos- Trigam lift irrigation scheme, completion of Lolab Bandipora road and bypass road from Sunerwani to Kuloosa, besides acquisition of land for construction of towers in Ganderbal to complete Putushai Grid Station.

Among others, SSP Bandipora Sheikh Zulfiqar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad Sanai, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Planning Officer Bandipora were also present on the occasion.
