Employment fair held at Budgam

BUDGAM, MARCH 08: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Budgam Mohammad Harun Malik today inaugurated one-day Employment Fair Mela at Behisht-Zehra Park in Budgam.

The Mela was organized by the District Employment and Counseling Centre Budgam under the centrally sponsored, National Career Service Project, where scores of stalls by public and private sectors were set up, providing awareness about their employment schemes to the unemployed.

On the occasion, DDC inspected different stalls and enquired about their employment generating schemes and training programmes.

DDC stressed on departments to provide full cooperation to unemployed interested in creating their own business ventures under these different schemes and programmes.

He also urged educated unemployed youth to set up their own business ventures to get maximum benefits under these schemes.

Assistant Director, District Employment and Counseling Centre Budgam, Mohammad Rafiq Bhat said that this was the fourth Employment Fair held in Budgam during the current fiscal.

AD, said that the aim of the Mela was to provide a platform between the potential employee and the employer. “Through these programmes the unemployed not only get know-how of different employment generating schemes but also they get encouraged to create their own job avenues under these schemes to sustain their economy,” he said.

Besides, Agriculture and Horticulture several other line departments had set up their stalls to provide information about their employment generating schemes. Stalls were also set up by the various other private sectors including Udaan and Himayat.

The Mela witnessed massive participation as hundreds of students and those undergoing training attended the Mela.
