The unscheduled power cuts are not only affected the routine life of the people but also the local business.

“I am running a computer institute but without proper electricity how can it be run smoothly? Besides unscheduled power cuts are having serious toll on the students’ community,” said one Khursheed Ahmad.

While talking to The Kashmir Images Assistant Executive Engineer PDD Sub Division Tangmarg Bashir Ahmad said, “Actually the curtailment program prepared for Tangmarg area  is as per schedule but there is grid curtailment after every two hours for one hour. The curtailment is done by Nihalpora grid station but the problem will be resolved within a week or so after the Drung power project is operational. The Nihalpora Grid actually don’t allow load beyond 280 ampere and we have to ensure electricity to essential areas like Gulmarg,Gondola and Club etc. We will ensure power supply as per schedule.”
