Kavinder convenes public meet at Babliana, assures early action on demands

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 25: Speaker Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar Kavinder Gupta assuring the people that their genuine grievances will be taken up on priority for early resolution said that systematic steps are being taken in a phased manner for development of Gandhi Nagar constituency, especially rural areas.

The Speaker was addressing a public meet at Babliana, Jammu, wherein residents put fort their developmental needs besides calling for augmentation of essential public utilities.

Kavinder informed the gathering that as part of the systematic development plan extensive work is being done for improvement of major link roads in all areas of the constituency, of which, major chunk of the work stands completed. He said that works are now being taken up for improvement of internal roads in all areas in a phased manner. Out of the total existing road network of about 845 kms in the constituency, augmentation work has been done on more 340 kms.

He assured the residents that works for internal lanes of Babliana will also be take up at the earliest.

He said that work is also in progress for construction of two pulleys in the area besides for development of park which is being done at an estimated cost of Rs 5.28 crore.

He further informed the people that in the last 3 years, 17 Tube wells have been constructed in the constituency besides construction, augmentation of about 20 kms of nallahs network.

During the public meet, demands put forth include widening and improvement of internal roads in the area, school upgradating school into a High School, upgradation of transformer to meet demands of growing population, setting up of additional Anganwadi Center, among others.

They also requested the Speaker for convening more public meets in the constituency, so that people can present their concerns to him for redressal.
