“Sheikh Nazir was a courageous son of the soil who served the people and his party without any self-seeking ambitions.  He never aspired for a position of power in the Government, nor did he advance any personal goals. He always maintained a close rapport with the party workers and remained accessible to them even when his health was in shambles. Nazir Sahab stood by his principles till his last breath and never compromised on his ideology and views. He was an honest and hardworking leader who epitomized simplicity in his personal life. On his third death anniversary, we salute Nazir Sahab’s legacy and pay glowing tributes to him”, NC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah said in his message issued from Party Headquarters in Srinagar.

National Conference Working President Omar Abdullah has also paid glowing tributes to Sheikh Nazir Ahmed on his third death anniversary. “Nazir Sahab’s demise created a vacuum not only within National Conference but also in the State’s polity that will be very hard to fill. His service towards his people remained the focal point of his life and he devoted his entire life in serving the party. Nazir Sahab’s honesty and steadfastness continues to inspire the rank and file of the party and we will all carry forward his legacy and struggle by serving our people”, NC Working President Omar Abdullah said in his message.

NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar described Sheikh Nazir Ahmed as a tall statesman and an exemplary and visionary leader who served his State and its people without any personal interests.
