29826 households provided toilet facility in Budgam
BUDGAM, FEBRUARY 23: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Budgam Mohammad Harun Malik today convened a meeting to take stock of the progress of work done under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) in the district.
The meeting was attended by the District Panchayat Officer Budgam, Abdul Rasheed and BDOs of the district.
On the occasion, the DDC directed concerned to gear up to achieve the 100 percent target under the SBM to declare the district as Open Defecation Free (ODF) in the shortest possible time.
The DDC stressed on the cent percent target achievement and asked for the updation of baseline survey before the February-28 this year. He also directed for uploading as well as Geo-Tagging of both physical as well as financial data by February 28.
The meeting was informed that over Rs 10 crore has been spent against the received amount of Rs 11 crore on the construction of toilets by the departments during the current financial year.
It was further revealed that out of a target of 72213 households, the department has provided toilet facilities to 29826 households under the SBM scheme in past years.
