Justice should be served to Asifa: Qazi Yasir
Anantnag: The Chairman of Ummat e Islami, Mirwaiz Qazi Ahmed Yasir today held a demonstration in support of the 8 year old rape victim Asifa at Jamia Masjid in Anantnag. Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir said the fight for Justice to Asifa is not a fight for the Gujjar community alone, but it is a fight of the entire Kashmiri nation and the entire justice loving people of the world.
Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir said that people of Kashmir equivocally demand that the culprits should be named and shamed in public.
Remembering the rape survivors of Kunan Poshpora, Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir said that Kashmiris have not forgotten the valuable sacrifices they have made. “Everyone in Kashmir remembers the survivors of Kunan Posphpora rape incident not as victims but as heroes,” Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir said. He said the incident and the aftermath of the incident speaks of the levels of tyranny people of Kashmir are subjected to. He said that there are people with vested interests who have used the survivors as shields to their work and seen their support as trophies, which is unfortunate. “If we use their suffering as a launch pad to our careers, it is nothing short of shame,” Mirwaiz Yasir said.
Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir also demanded release of political prisoners.
