Kashir-U-19 Football tournament concludes in Baramulla

Baramulla: In order to encourage youth, channelize talent and refine skills through proper sports platform, Kashmir U- 19 football tournament was organised by 53 Batallion CRPF. The tournament came to a fitting finale with final being played between Sober Club and Young Iqbal in a nail biting finish. The final was won by Sober Club with score line of 3-2. The tournament started on 2nd December 2017 with participation of 10 boys and two girls’ teams.

U-19 girls’ football final was also held earlier in the day between St. Joseph school and Girls Higher Secondary Baramulla which was won by Girls GHSS Baramulla.

The final was attended by DC Baramulla, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Naqash , DIG NKR Vidhi Kumar Birdi, Radhey Shyam CO 176 Bn CRPF, Sh Bhupal Singh CO 177 Bn CRPF, Sh Ram Niwas Shekhu CO 179 bn, Sh Shafakat SP ops baramulla , Sh Aijaz Hussain Malik District Information Officer and other senior officers of police, army and district administration.

Speaking on the occasion P.S Rajora, DIGP, CRPF and Vinay Kumar Tiwari Commandant 53 Bn CRPF emphasised that “It is important to channelize the energy of the youth.  Sports is an excellent medium to promote the latent talents in the valley”

Prize distribution was held in DPL with winning team and runners up team bagging cash prize along with medals and certificates while girls’ team also got the reward. All the participating players were awarded football kit and certificate. The winning teams of both the groups will be offered opportunity to travel outside for further refinement of skills under National Bharat Darshan Programme. Both common public and district administration equally lauded the initiative of 53 Bn CRPF for organising the tournament.
