School Education Deptt kick-starts weeklong cleanliness drive

SRINAGAR, MARCH 21: School Education Department launched its weeklong cleanliness drive in all the schools of the State.

Secretary School Education Department, Farooq Ahmad Shah reviewed the arrangements being made for the cleanliness drive at a meeting today through video conferencing.

Shah also took stock of the education facilities in far-flung areas of the State like Keran, Machil, Tangdar, Gurez, Wailoo, Sinthan Kishtwar, Kaltoora, Sonbrari and other areas.

The meeting was attended by Director School Education Kashmir Dr. G.N. Itoo and Chief Education Officers of many districts, and other concerned.

During the meeting, Secretary Education was given a detailed brief of education facilities in far-flung areas of the Valley. He stressed on providing sufficient teaching staff to the schools in such areas and directed CEOs to personally monitor the teaching-learning process in schools.

He further directed them to expedite the process of the engagement of teachers for academic arrangement on a temporary basis. He also directed all concerned to take necessary steps for establishing herbal gardens in the schools.

Meanwhile, Director School Education Kashmir Dr. G.N. Itoo along with senior officers of the department visited BHSS Batamaloo and other adjoining schools to take stock of the arrangements for the celebration of cleanliness week.
