Chairman, Directors of The Citizens’ Cooperative Bank Ltd call on Lt Governor

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 13: Chairman of The Citizens’ Cooperative Bank Ltd., Jammu along with its Directors today called on the Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu here at the Raj Bhavan.

The delegation headed by Sh. Parveen Kumar Sharma, Chairman of the Bank accompanied by S. Surinder Singh, Sh. Bharat Bhushan Gupta, Sh. Sumant Singh Jamwal & Sh. Ravi Kant-Directors and Sh. Ashok Goswamy, Managing Director apprised the Lt Governor of the difficulties of Cooperative banks in J&K for augmenting their business in the present era of competition.

They submitted a memorandum of demands and issues pertaining to the implementation of 97th Constitutional Amendment in the J&K Cooperative Societies Act; contribution of Share capital to the four Urban Cooperative Banks of Union Territory of J&K enabling these banks to raise their equity to give them a level playing field to compete with other banks in the UT etc.

The delegation also briefed the Lt Governor about the functioning of the bank and various services being provided by the bank to its customers.

The Lt Governor observed that every bank has an important role to play towards promoting economic growth of the region and assured the members of the delegation to consider their genuine issues for examination and early redressal.
