The protestors marched from Girls Higher Secondary to Iqbal Market Sopore. The rally was addressed by President Trader’s Federation Haji Mohammad Ashraf and other civil society members.

“Government should not play with the sentiments of Sopore people. Since PDP has its own MLA in Baramulla, they want to shift everything to Baramulla. But if this decision of shifting Joint Director Office from Sopore to Baramulla isn’t revoked, we will launch a massive campaign against the government,” President added.

The sit-in protest was held at Iqbal market sopore by the locals along with the people from Bandipora and Kupwara districts who shared the same concern.

“Earlier Joint director Education joined the office at District institute of education and training (DIET) Sopore but the office was shifted from Sopore to Baramulla on political approach,” alleged the coordination committee Sopore.
