Kupwara: Four militants have been killed in an ongoing fierce gunfight with security forces in Halmatpora check forests of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday.
A top Army official said that gunfight broke out between recently infiltrating militants and forces around 3.30 pm on Tuesday, when some militants hiding in the woods at Halmatpora check forests fired at the 41 Rashtriya Rifles and J&K Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) search party which was launched after inputs about militants hiding in the forest area.
The gunfight is going on and so far four militants has been killed. Reinforcements were sent to the scene. The area has been cordoned off.
